Introducing Project FirstLight: 5K-IoT's First Initiative Under the New Structure
With the organizational picture slowly settling in, and the website updated to match, we can share the first concrete outcome of this new structure: Project FirstLight.
FirstLight is the reintroduction of a platform that was in development in the past but never had the time to find its place. It's a compact, ultra-low-power sensor board built to host multiple sensors, run for long stretches on a small battery, and communicate wirelessly (with room to grow into different environments over time). It's designed as a flexible starting point rather than a single-purpose device: the same core platform, adapted to different sensors and use cases as it matures.
FirstLight is also the clearest example yet of how 5K-IoT and The Shadow on the Moon (TSoM) work together under the new structure: TSoM leads the technical implementation (hardware, firmware, and systems engineering) while 5K-IoT is responsible for turning that engineering work into a real product: commercialization, go-to-market, and long-term support.
We're deliberately keeping this update short. There's more work ahead before we have much to show. It's a meaningful first step for 5K-IoT as a product company, and we wanted to mark it. Expect more detail in future articles as the platform develops.
